Brad Hampton was born in Detroit, Michigan and lives and works in New York City. He studied Linguistics and Art History at New York University, Ruprecht-Karls Universität in Heidelberg, Germany and the Sorbonne in Paris, France. Brad received his MFA in Painting from Parsons New School for Design in New York and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
Brad's paintings have been exhibited by Massimo Audiello Gallery (New York), Sandra Gering Gallery (New York), Marlborough Gallery (New York), Artists Space (New York), Samson Projects (Boston), 1708 Gallery (Richmond, VA), the Electronics Alive IV Biennial (Tampa, FL), Westchester Community College Art Gallery (New York) and the New York Public Library. Solo exhibitions have been mounted at Seohwa Gallery in Seoul, Korea in 2004 and 2013 and at the Cranbrook Academy near Detroit, Michigan. Brad's work has been featured in two editions of New American Paintings as well as Art in America and The Village Voice.
